Macao’s Biggest Travel Expo Returns. Here’s Why You Should Go

Macao will host one of Asia’s biggest annual travel events this April. The 14th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (MITE) runs from 10 to 12 April 2026. It will be held at Halls A, B, and C at Cotai Expo, The Venetian Macao.

Themed “Global Convergence, Future Horizons”, the 14th MITE brings together top travel deals, destinations, and experiences. It’s the ideal event for anyone planning a trip. The 14th MITE promises a dynamic programme, with highlights designed for both travellers and industry professionals.

Five Reasons Travellers Should Not Miss the 14th MITE This year, the expo brings together travel, technology, culture, health, and gastronomy, making it an unmissable event. Here are five major highlights drawing visitors from around the world.

APEC Empowerment and Multi-Destination Tourism Macao is hosting the APEC Tourism Ministerial Meeting in 2026, making this year’s expo extra special. Travel agencies will launch exciting APEC-themed multi-destination itineraries at the event. Visitors can join the “MITE X APEC Stamp Passport” activity to collect stamps and check in on social media. The Asia-Pacific Gastronomy Showcase will serve a palate of special delicacies and beverages from across the Asia-Pacific region. Each dish tells a story of culture, tradition, and place — turning every bite into a mini journey across the region.

Global Outreach and Diversified Expansion

Macao’s unique role as a bridge between China and Portuguese-speaking countries stands out. Portugal and Spain will have dedicated pavilions, showcasing Europe’s popular destinations. The upgraded Silk Road Halal Products Pavilion will feature exhibitors from the Belt and Road countries and regions. The “Muslim Tourism Opportunities Networking Salon” will explore the potential of the Halal travel market and its new opportunities.

Technology and Low-Altitude Economy: Dual-Engines Driving Development

The new Low-Altitude Economy Pavilion highlights innovations in urban air mobility and tourism experiences. International influencers and robots will even livestream from the expo, adding a futuristic buzz.

Health and Wellness Tourism Across Two Destinations

The event will span both Macao and neighbouring Hengqin. Health and wellness enterprises from both places will exhibit. They offer a look into the future of medical tourism. A high-level forum will explore opportunities in the growing silver economy and Greater Bay Area tourism. Visitors can also join tours of health and wellness venues across Macao and Hengqin.

Magnetic Creative Hub: Captivating Gen Z

The brand-new Magnetic Creative Hub is designed to captivate Gen Z travellers with local creative IPs and hands-on cultural workshops. Macao’s beloved tourism mascot, MAK MAK, is also getting a major makeover at this year’s expo. The MAK MAK IP licensing programme launches here, with limited-edition merchandise available to purchase on-site. A special photo installation will showcase MAK MAK in different outfits, making it a perfect social media moment.
