SAKA Museum Bali: A Cultural Gem Polishing the Island’s Image, Earns Global Acclaim
AYANA Bali’s SAKA Museum, a dedicated space that honours Bali’s vibrant heritage, has been recognised as one of the World’s Most Beautiful Museums for 2025. This accolade comes from Prix Versailles, a distinguished French award that celebrates intelligent sustainability, cultural expression, and architectural brilliance. SAKA Museum is the only institution in Indonesia to be honoured this year, joining a prestigious list that includes the Grand Palais in Paris and the Cleveland Museum of Natural History in the U.S.A
This global recognition celebrates museums that demonstrate exceptional architecture and provide visitors with meaningful experiences that showcase heritage, innovation, and a sense of place. The announcement marks the start of the 11th edition of the Prix Versailles, which will continue to reveal leading projects across various categories throughout 2025.
A Rising Star in Bali’s Cultural Landscape
Located on the grounds of AYANA Bali in Jimbaran, SAKA Museum has quickly become one of Indonesia’s leading cultural institutions since opening last year. It was quickly named one of Time magazine’s world’s greatest places and was selected among the Top 100 in the Kyoto Global Design Awards for its pioneering and sustainable design.
Dr. Judith E. Bosnak, Director of SAKA Museum, expressed her gratitude, “SAKA Museum has truly become a place of cultural pride and inspiration for Bali. This recognition celebrates the ingenuity of our entire SAKA Museum team, while also underscoring the profound importance of sustainable, accessible, and cutting-edge venues for cultural learning. We hope to inspire others to embrace innovative, inclusive, and sustainable design in Indonesia while encouraging visitors to engage deeply with Bali’s past, present, and future through our immersive cultural experience”.
